Winona Ryder (born Winona Laura Horowitz near Winona, Minnesota on October 29, 1971) is an American actress. She began her illustrious film career in 1986, landing her first role in Lucas. Winona became a household name when she portrayed goth girl, Lydia Deetz, in the 1988 classic Beetlejuice. She quickly became the “It” girl in the 1990s, starring in several films including Edward Scissorhands and Bram Stocker‘s Dracula. Winona nabbed her first Golden Globe nomination for Mermaids. She later expanded her resume with executive producing credits for the movie Girl, Interrupted, which she also starred in. The actress even scored a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2000.
