Candace Parker has been a WNBA star for over a decade. Originally from St. Louis, Missouri, Candace has played for a number of teams across the country. She played college ball at the University of Tennessee, but after she graduated, she was drafted to the WNBA and played for the Los Angeles Sparks. For most of her professional career, Candace had played with the Sparks, but she did miss eight games when she was pregnant with her daughter Lailaa Nicole Williams, 12, in 2009. With the Sparks, Candace took home her first WNBA Championship in 2016, where she was also named the WNBA Finals MVP. When she became a free agent, she decided to end her 13-year tenure with the Sparks, and she signed a contract with the Chicago Sky, who she won the 2021 WNBA Finals with.
Candace had been married to Shelden Williams from 2008 to 2016, and the pair had their daughter. In December 2021, Candace revealed that she’d married Russian basketball player Anya Petrakova in 2019, and the two are expecting a child.
