Emmy Rossum, born Sept. 12, 1986, is an American actress known for her role as Fiona Gallagher on the series ‘Shameless.’ Emmy rose to prominence in the early 2000s. After a number of small roles in various TV series and films, she landed the role of Christine in the 2004 film adaptation of ‘The Phantom of the Opera.’ Emmy, who grew up taking opera lessons, earned a Golden Globe nomination for her work and went on to have a steady, successful career. Not only did she maintain steady work in Hollywood, she also debuted her first album in 2007. But by 2011, Emmy earned the role that fans would come to know her for. For nearly 10 years, Emmy played opposite Oscar nominated actor William H. Macy on ‘Shameless.’ By 2018, though, Emmy announced that she would depart the series to pursue other projects.
