Kathy Najimy (born Kathy Ann Najimy on February 6, 1957 in San Diego, California) is an American actress, comedian and voice-actress. Kathy attended Crawford High School. Kathy’s film career began in the early 1990’s, with a number of small roles. Her big break came in 1992, where she appeared as Sister Mary Patrick in the Whoopi Goldberg comedy, Sister Act. The next year, Kathy appeared alongside Bette Midler and Sarah Jessica Parker in the Disney Halloween film, Hocus Pocus. Her television career kicked off in 1997 when she was part of the cast of Veronica’s Closet. That year, she also lent her voice to the character of Peggy Hill on the long-running television show, King of the Hill. She remained with the show until its end in 2010. Kathy has appeared in the TV series Veep and The Big C, as well as movies The Guilt Trip, Step Up 3D, and Pixar’s WALL-E. In 2015, Kathy was cast as the Evil Queen in the Disney television movie, Descendants.

Kathy is an outspoken activist for many causes. She appeared on a celebrity version of The Weakest Link, donating her $50,000 winnings to the Feminist Majority’s Foundation to Stop Gender Apartheid in Afghanistan. After winning the season six tournament of Celebrity Poker Showdown, she donated the $100,000 to V-Day, an organization that aims to stop violence against women and girls. In 2005, she was chosen by Ms. Magazine as Woman of the Year. Kathy married comedic actor/singer Dan Finnerty in August 1995. They have a daughter named Samia.
